Privacy policy under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO).
This policy must match what the site actually does. It is written to describe Fineura as it currently stands. The moment you add an analytics tool, an email service such as MailerLite, a signup form that stores data, or any affiliate tracking, this document has to be updated to name that service, what it collects, and where it processes data.
A privacy policy that describes something other than reality is worse than none at all. Complete the orange fields, and have the finished text reviewed before you promote the site.

Fineura is an informational comparison website for international students moving to Germany. We do not hold client funds, we do not process financial transactions, and we do not require you to create an account to use the comparison or the questionnaire.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. When you load a page, technical data is processed by the hosting infrastructure in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. This typically includes:

The four questions on the homepage (your purpose for coming to Germany, the country you are applying from, your age band at enrolment, and your priority) are processed entirely in your browser. Your answers are used to generate a recommendation on screen. They are not transmitted to a server and are not stored by us unless you choose to submit your email address.
If you enter your email address to save your plan or to receive alerts about fee and rule changes, we process that address in order to send you those messages.
Email addresses are stored and processed on our behalf by Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH / Brevo SAS), an email marketing provider based in the European Union. Brevo acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR and processes data within the EU. Its privacy information is available at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from the list immediately and takes effect for the future.
We do not sell your email address, and we do not pass it to the providers we compare.
If you use the "connect me with a student" feature, you enter your email address and are then given a link that opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message containing that address.
WhatsApp is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. When you message us, your data is processed by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy, over which we have no control. This includes your phone number becoming visible to us. If you would prefer not to use WhatsApp, write to contact@fineura.co instead.
The students we connect you with share their own personal experience. They are not our employees, and the conversation is not legal, immigration, financial or insurance advice.

This site currently loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers and your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in consistent presentation. Note that German courts have taken a strict view of embedding Google Fonts without consent. Recommended: host the font files locally instead, which removes this issue entirely, and delete this section once you do.

This site is delivered over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
This site is intended for adults preparing to study in Germany. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the site develops — in particular when we add an email service, analytics or affiliate tracking. The current version always applies.
